National Academy for Medical Science (NAMS) was established in 2001 initiating the course on Proficiency Certificate Level in General Medicine (being the first private institution to produce Health Assistants in the country), its first course in health science. From the very beginning, outcome of the academy has shown its remarkable achievements by giving the impressive results in final examinations of CTEVT. The number of students standing in the first division is remarkable.   In addition, the academy has produced topper students (first position with distinction) in the board examination taken by CTEVT during 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. The main motto of the academy was to generate mid level capable health manpower for the country. In the course of time, the academy has gained its maturation by fulfilling all requirements for a standardized institution. The academy has not stopped its steps here; it has thought a long way to go in future.

NAMS has a pool of core, full time faculty with long teaching experience and expertise in various fields of Health Management. The faculties are regularly involved in research and training, and have served as consultants to different organization in health, government and non government

 

NAMS retains the service of senior visiting health professionals to share practical experience and perspective in the process of learning. About one third of the total sessions are handled by visiting health professionals.

 

Learners take charge in the learning process

The learning pedagogy at NAMS is built on student-centered active learning processes; on case study methods, group discussion, student presentations, and project works in the real organizational setting. Through out the course, students are encouraged to work and learn in a group environment.

 

Access to healthy Learning Resources

Library based in NAMS has a wide collection of books on related subject matter and journals. It has around 5000 volumes of books on health and its management and is a regular subscriber of various journals.

NAMS also maintains a computer lab with unlimited access to internet facilities.

 

Involvement in Co-curricular Activities

 Students at NAMS are involved in various co-curricular activities throughout their study period. They participate in sport events, bring out the student magazine, and organize various indoor and outdoor events. Students also participate in various talk programs and seminars conducted by NAMS.
